drywall & molding
The first thing we had to do for this project was create two sets of matching triangles with curved ends for an arched doorway. We then attached the corresponding pair to one another with 2x4s along the curved edge and attached the sets in the upper corners of the doorway. We then spliced drywall to create a bend for the arches and attached all the way up to the ceiling. Once our drywall was screwed in, we taped and mudded our first coat. We did about three coats of mud before painting. Once our paint dried, our instructor challenged us to add crown molding on tight corners. We then finished with caulk.

I would say that drywall and mudding is not for me, but I did learn some valuable skills on this project, such as learning when to leave the product alone. I had a difficult time with adding the mud to the drywall and smoothing it out. I did, however, have a lot of fun with the molding and I loved the process of figuring out which way to turn the product to the blade to get the correct cut.
